How to properly wash your hands
Believe it or not, there’s more to washing your hands than giving them a quick rinse with a bit of soap and water. Instead, follow these 6 easy hand-washing steps:
- Wet your hands using clean, warm water
- Turn off the tap and apply your soap
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap, making sure you cover the backs of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails too
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds
- Rinse your hands well with clean water
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or let them air-dry
How long should you wash your hands for?
You should make sure that you scrub your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds – if you need a timer, try singing or humming one round of “Happy Birthday”!
